Introduction & Mission Statement

The Pakistan Red Crescent Hilal-e-Ahmar Thalassaemia and Haemophilia Blood Centre is a humanitarian initiative dedicated to providing lifesaving blood transfusion services to Thalassaemia and Haemophilia patients. Operating as a non-governmental organization (NGO) under the District Red Crescent Branch, Sargodha, and the center is a hope for those battling these lifelong, genetic blood disorders.

With a commitment to saving lives, we provide safe, screened, and high-quality blood components, including whole blood, packed cells, fresh frozen plasma (FFP), and platelets. Our facility not only serves patients from the Sargodha Division but also extends support to those from other districts, ensuring that no patient in need is left behind.


Our Operations & Services

• Blood Donation & Collection: We actively organize blood donation camps in colleges, universities, government institutions, and prisons, ensuring a steady and safe supply of blood for Thalassemia patients.

• Blood Bank & Transfusion Facility: Our blood bank follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) prescribed by the Punjab Blood Transfusion Authority (PBTA) and maintains the highest standards of screening, storage, and transfusion.

• Comprehensive Blood Screening: Every donor undergoes mandatory screening for HBV, HCV, HIV, Malaria Parasite (MP), and Syphilis, as per PBTA guidelines. Additionally, our state-of- the-art ELISA testing ensures 100% safety before blood is transfused to Thalassemia patients.

• Free Blood Transfusions: We provide completely free blood transfusions to Thalassemia and Hemophilia patients every Friday and Saturday, while other days are reserved for blood donation camps, awareness campaigns, and administrative work.




Funding & Support

Our center operates without any government funding and relies entirely on:

• Executive Members & Business Community Contributions.

• Public Donations (Zakat, Khairaat, and Sadaqat).

• Collection of Sacrificial Hides (Eid-ul-Adha Campaign.

By the Grace of Almighty Allah, our center has grown into a state-of-the-art blood facility, significantly impacting the lives of Thalassemia and Hemophilia patients.
